I know how syrupy this sounds, how dull, provincial, and possibly whitewashed, but what can I do? Happy childhoods happen

About This Quote

The fact that happy childhoods happen is what makes them so sad. Childhood should be full of laughter and happiness, not sadness and unhappiness. Kids deserve to be happy, but they don’t get to live in a world where they are never sad. Children deserve to be innocent, so they can grow up to be happy adults. But they aren’t allowed to grow up unless they are sad at least once in their lives.
